Hookah Bowl: No Foil? No problem! (Or so I thought)

It was stacking up to be a night respectable for any party pioneer: prior to hitting up a homemade Mexican dinner, the Sudanese Thinker and I were going to chill out, rock a shisha, and talk politics.

… until I realized we were fresh out of tinfoil. Not one to be distracted by material wants, I saw a golden opportunity to explain:

How to pack a bowl of shisha without regular tinfoil

It was my last hope: I grabbed a pack of Starlight coals, opened up the foil wrap, and put that little guy around my bowl, using a hair-tie to keep it tight:

the hookah save

That, I believed, was totally Boss Hog…

Until I laid the coal to rest

the hookah non-save

Turns out that Starlight doesn’t use real foil in their wrappers. Lesson learned.

Know any brands that DO use real foil in their wrapper? Let us know in the comments section right below.

  1. Apparently 3 Kings coal wrapping can be used in a pinch as foil (not from experience – however there seems to be enough people who seem to back it up).

  2. I’ve heard that as well, but haven’t tried it yet either. We’ll probably give it a shot sometime in the future and throw up the results.

  3. 3 Kings’ wrapper will definitely work. Its confirmed. Starlight is clearly not foil. Your better than that Mike.
