Travel Hookah: Philippines (Plus: what to do with small bottles)

Another day of The Dream

The persistent search for The Dream brought the Hobocans crew to the Philippines not too long ago, and boy did we like them apples.

With extremely favorable exchange rates and four-dollar bottles of rum at the gas station, it was nary a day before it felt like home. The beaches were pure, the rum was strong, and the ice was cold… what more do you need?

You Need The Beach Hookah

hobohookah + duct tape + empty island = heaven

When we say the HoboHookah will fit on nearly any bottle, we mean it. The canoe dude was 45 minutes late to our meet-up, so we did what every logical human would do: lay down and light up.

The rum bottle was in the freezer, and the freezer was in the sleeping quarters, so all we had was a wine bottle. Admittedly, wine bottles are hit or miss with Hobo compatibility.

We were on the empty island, with a stray dog, and a tepid marriage of bottle-to-hookah.

Here’s the lesson:

When dealing with small bottles, simply add a little tape around the neck of that guy to beef up the width a little bit (see pic). A few layers of tape and HOLY MOLEY your hobo hugs that neck like a long lost lover.

Here’s the 2nd lesson:

Don’t buy small bottles.

  2. so i was wondering if you have a step by step for making “Hobohookah”

i’m actually in the philippines and acquiring fair priced smoking accessories is actually quite hard, but i do have some cool bottles collected over the months that would be great for this purpose.

    thanks.
